Three years ago, my husband Tim and I got married on a farm in upstate New York. We totally fell in love with the place and sort of offhandedly said we’d like to get a farm of our own some day.
Cut to last October and we did it. The only hitch- it’s a major work in progress which is really a nice way of saying that when we bought it, the place was a total shithole- uninhabitable with no water, no electricity and no proper shelter. While we’ve done a tremendous amount of work, we still have a very long way to go.
I started this blog for two reasons: one to help myself cope with the torturous amount of work that has overtaken my weekends so I’m not complaining out loud to my husband and two, to document the process. It has probably saved me thousands of dollars in psychiatric bills and will also serve as a nice way to reflect some day when we finish (if we’re still alive).
